Sustainability Officer

Do you want to be part of a driven and hardworking team with a no-nonsense culture? Roveg Fruit is looking for a Sustainability Officer with a hands-on mentality. You will give a concrete interpretation of the sustainability objectives of Roveg Fruit.

In recent years, Roveg Fruit has made a strong commitment to sustainability. For example, we are reducing our carbon footprint thanks to solar panels on our warehouse and the use of sustainable packaging. We also reduce food waste, with a special coating that extends the shelf life of avocados. As a result, we achieve 30-40% less product waste.

Roveg Fruit wants to take the next step in its sustainability mission! Together with our suppliers and customers, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint in the production and transport process. Think about sustainable packaging, using pesticides in the right way, guiding our suppliers, etc. We are also looking for ways to use our social impact in a positive way. Would you care to translate that feeling into action? Then we are looking for you!

What will you do?

• You will set sustainability goals and develop these into concrete actions;
• Coordinate with relevant departments and motivate both internally and externally to achieve results;
• You translate complex sustainability topics and requirements from certifications into understandable input within the organization;
• You support the commercial department in their contact with clients and give advice and, if necessary, go along to clients as an expert in your field;
• You maintain an active network and are the ambassador for sustainability.

What do we expect?

• HBO or academic work and thinking level;
• For example, a study at the HAS or you have had sustainability as a subject within an (economic) study.
• Passion for and knowledge of sustainability within the food sector;
• You are ambitious, enthusiastic, communicative and have social skills;
• You are entrepreneurial, customer and result oriented and think in creative solutions to achieve results;
• Good command of the English language.
